£16? A lump of 32mm EN1 steel with a 26mm slot milled across dia at £3, I would feel guilty robbing you. I'd make it from bits out the offcuts box.

To hold a fork damper rod still I just used some 22mm copper pipe and kept squashing the end until it wedged in the rod end, cant remember what fork it was now.It dosent take much to hold the rod still.

What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - leehenty - 08-06-2020

I think these early 3VD 41mm cartridge forks are quite unique, because when the 4TX came along things became more conventional using (cheaper) damper rods. The 29mm AF hex in the top carried on to the Niner.

installed the pistons tonight.

who's idea was it to use the strongest circlips in the world?

took me an hour to put two in. lucky i kept the original inside two in.

for reference; clip one end into the piston at quarter past, then pull the other end in as close as poss. this leaves a ring showing. careful push the ring in in increments using a flat bladed screwdriver. stuff rags in the crank too as a few times they pinged off.

haynes just says install circlips

having a brew as my fingers are aching and drew blood too

They usually ping off into the darkest corners of the workshop... Leading to much profanity

The surface of the moon is better than in the crankcase while assuming it's in the corner of the workshop somewhere.

What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - Snowbird - 09-06-2020

Fitted the adjustable levers I bought last july, had to modify the front brake lever as it was totally wrong for the original master cylinder as well as the 9er one I have fitted now.

£16 off fleabay, I'll see how they go when I get round to riding it next.

they look very short, hope the leverage is ok on the fingers

What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - peter-may - 09-06-2020

I had those fitted on a 900. Found the leverage was no problem, but was never convinced that the "sweep" of the clutch lever was sufficient to fully disengage the clutch. Could have been me being picky. See what you think.

What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - Snowbird - 09-06-2020

They seem ok after a quick run, first attempt was a fail as my modded brake lever wasn't letting the piston back quite far enough and the brake stayed on a bit each time till I had to take the lever off to get back, then found out there wasn't a screwdriver in the toolkit under the seat (doh!), managed to get the pivot bolt out using the edge of a key, very careful ride back with just rear brake.

A quick reshape and another go, this time with screwdriver under the seat, yeah they seem fine leverage wise especially as I found the clutch a bit heavy on standard levers, must be my faggoty small hands struggling with the stretch.

What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - peter-may - 10-06-2020

Good result then, nice one. May just give them a second chance. Would be interested in 900 experience with these. It's the clutch I'm particularly interested in as the span is getting a bit wide for my old feeble fingers.

There are so many reports about certain types of imported short levers locking up front brakes, in a similar fashion to how you've described.

There are  a lot of links down this page https://www.gixxer.com/threads/brakes-locking-up-when-riding-new-levers-read-here-public-service-announcement.335452/
