it'll be a different size/shape to the original. i fixed mine in same place, but with only 1 bolt and used locktight.

Cheers Godz, for your advice on the VFR 35amp regulator was excellent.

Betta Bikes at Morphett Vale remembered you and just picked one off the shelf. He even provided the wiring clips to make life easier.

Never had any problems.
