Break Down Cover - colinellis - 28-11-2008 Re: Not being covered for accidents. I have a membership with "Your Key "( not the chocolate bar) This covers:- Accident support helpline with 08000 number, access to vehicle recovery, hire and repair.Free legal cover for compensation for me,my family and pillions/pasengers. This covers any vehicle, and any accident whether vehicle related or not. This came free when I applied for a bike quote(which I didn't take up) from "The Bike Insurer" I hope never to find out how good they are, but hey! its free. Break Down Cover - BwfcDave1 - 28-11-2008 Mines with NCI. Think I paid them £66 which covers me in any vehicle. Called on them twice (Once with the VFR and once when I got a puncture on the 900) both times tunred up with the right equipment and got me home safe and sound Break Down Cover - dapleb - 29-11-2008 T'was me duty to test out me cover for the first time ever (that'll teach me to post in a bloomin recovery thread): Me'sen and Jean Claude (damn van) tried to leaf a field and we had no apple turn over. Did all the things I could think of, including changing the spare starter motor I had with me. No go. Must be wiring (thats me out then) and me 24hours electrical helpline was not answerin. Called AA. Said 45mins Arrived in under 15mins! Described prob and what I had tried Dignosed in 30seconds. Jean Claude running in a further 30 seconds. Spent 5 mins makin me a cable with spade connector one end and battery connector t'other end incase I stalled (direct battery to starter motor) Asked if I was ok to continue or I wanted recovery Bloomin marvelous. 10/10 for them. I suspect it depends alot on who you get turnip, what day it is etc but was mightily impressed. b00oo0p Break Down Cover - Guest - 29-11-2008 I've just renewed with the AA again. Letter said £130, phoned them and said not to take the money from my Ccard and phone me back next week while I look around. When they returned the call, Friday, I got the same cover for £89. Think she said 30%. I or the misses never had to use their service in the last couple of years so I expect a little discount over the online price. This covers the bike, the car and the wife under one rescue/recovery policy. It is a pay and claim policy, so you need to carry a form of payment with you. My car broke down recently with the wife driving and the £78 recovery fee was paid back within 2 weeks of me posting the claim form off. http://www.autoaidbreakdown.co.uk/ (no connection) HTH Snorvey<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd--> I have this too! Had a puncture and they sent out SOS bike recovery - proper van designed for bikes with a driver who knew what he was doing. Top service and I just claimed the cost back from Autoaid in less than week. Well worth the £36 and far better service than when i used the AA. Break Down Cover - dapleb - 13-01-2025 Quote:I am with aa. They cover me rather than certain ve-hickle and were the only ones who would cover my ageing campervan at no extra cost. Search web and barter for best price. For those travelling far on worthless bikes, they often have clause that they will only recover up to market value of bike.I thought that you had to offer new and existing members the same price these days? Just tried to renew my 18years running unused AA membership and apparently I am £11 more of a liability than a new member. Normally we go through the process and they agree to the same price, but not this year. Can anyone recommend a diff company please? RAC I guess the obvious one but I want person cover rather than specific ve-hickle cover and they don't seem to do that. Break Down Cover - Trevini - 13-01-2025 https://www.autoaidbreakdown.co.uk/personal-based-cover/motorbike-breakdown-cover/  I've been using these for years and never had an issue. There's a little extra premium for older vehicles (which all of mine are except one), but as it's personal cover, covers anything you're driving. Break Down Cover - dapleb - 13-01-2025 Great thanks twev. Oil investigate. Break Down Cover - dapleb - 21-01-2025 What a surprise. AA called to say they could match that price they couldn't possibly match. Thanks for linky dink Twev, I will no doubt need 8t at some point. |
