And Your tall too, get down your yammi dealer and let me know what you think! Choose A Bike............. - buzz750 - 23-07-2010 How about a R1150GS? I took one out for a test run before I bought my tdm. I'm only 5"7", but could just touch the floor with both feet (not flat) I decided it was just a bit too tall & heavy for me, but on the move it was bloody superb. Price wise, it was a 2001, 36k, £3000. Bargain. Choose A Bike............. - newstu - 23-07-2010 miss my XT more than I thought I would but have to keep reminding myself what a PIA it was on a longer journey - vibey, revvy and uncomfortable. That said, for a scratch back and forth to work its a real grin inducing bike with enough performance to make it fun but not too much to make it fragile and need spannering every ten minutes Either that or, if you want more cubes, how about a Buell?? (should I get me coat?) Choose A Bike............. - poldark - 23-07-2010 I've gone through a load of test rides over past few months investigating a new bike. I have a Burgman 650 for commute & 2 up days out, what I was after was a small, light nimble afternoon fun bike that would also provide the kicks the Burgman can't. Worked my way from singles, DRZ400SM, KTM Duke 690, Pegaso Strada on the way learning I don't really like singles (I guess spoilt by a smooth twin) to twins, Monster 796, Kaw ER6f & Versys, finally settling on a triple - Triumph Street Triple R. I have to agree that for a 9 mile commute a scoot would be an option, if you don't need to carry much and aren't fussed not having feet forward, then I reckon a Honda SH300 would be quite an eye opener for you. But seeing your preference for larger bikes I would highly recommend testing a new <b>Bonneville</b>. I took one out when I rode the Speed & Street Triple, didn't have much else to do that day, was stunned how modern the handling felt and the engine grunt was really good, very roomy & comfortable and you can get quick detachable touring screens. They're not a lot new and hold their value well. Choose A Bike............. - marko67 - 23-07-2010 ![]() seeing as silliness is in season.. Choose A Bike............. - ChrisG - 24-07-2010 Get a 250 or 400 enduro and do some green laning on it. Choose A Bike............. - catsbum - 25-07-2010 What about Pic's Burgman? That could be the perfect Commuter? If it doesnt sell of course....... Choose A Bike............. - Daveb - 25-07-2010 I had a look at one of those the XT660SM before I bought the Tiger, apparently its good up to motorway speed but hard work at 70+, good fun low speed but I was told by my local Yam dealer that I would miss the response of the Twin compared with a single, plus if you ride on dual carrageways or motorways you would miss the power to overtake vehicles. didn't ET have problems with his XT660Z tenere? http://dashack.co.uk/go/index.php/topic,6903.0.html ps fuel consumtion is worth looking at, currently I am getting 220 miles before reserve on Tigger, so 220miles on 18lt with another 6lt in reserve.
