Just fit it as it is ...........I've never had any scuff marks & been using them for years
In fact, tape will probably cause you a problem, as you will foget its there & will end up having to get old adhesive off yer bits !

Fitted this afternoon.
My thoughts are its a genuine Baglux with the quality/feel not as good as my previous Niner. The lower straps are now fitted to the outside of the tank, weird.
Anyway, shes on and a decent coat of polish on the tank.

Heated grips tomorrow.

Looks good, that kink by the filler will probably settle out after a while. What bag have you got for it?

Tempted to get one myself but not sure what color, black would match the engine/frame but might not look right on a silver bike.

Baglux - catsbum - 26-12-2010

Got Me old mate Mr Lidl Tank Bag, fits well.

In Hindsight I would have gone for Black. Lets see a pic of Tony's bike. Sure he has black on Silver

Cats, how have you fitted the side straps? I fitted mine under the bracket the side panels bolt on to,[Image: PICT9717.jpg]I figure they've put the straps on outside to avoid rubbing the tank.Cats, do you find the front clips interfere with the mounts for the hand guards? I find they clash on full lock......

Yep, will follow your lead and tuck the strap under the fairing.
The bars do clip the clip, already broken one of the mouldings
Really not as good as the previous version

Baglux - steve-evans - 29-12-2010

They've obviously changed the fitting of the new covers, mine, which is about 4 year's old, have those bottom straps on the inside of the cover and clip over the bottom lip of the tank, which makes them less obtrusive. I don't understand why they have changed the design as there are no problems with the old method?

BTW, does anyone else think cats new cover looks whiter than the whitest white thing

Persil Bike

Your so so right about the clips under the tank. Much better idea, refitted the straps just now, but the whole feel of the cover is not great.
If your buying one, look on Ebay for the older version, my tip
