Tdut 2012 --New Date 12-15 Oct 2012-- - azza68 - 22-12-2011 What was/is the consensus/plan for accommodation? Group booking or fend for selves? If it's decided to book a couple/few of the cabins at the Snowy River Holiday Park, I'll lay down a deposit and we can sort the remainder at the venue. Let me know what you think. And whose was the black 900 under the runway in Sydney last Friday? I've checked 2 possible routes to Dalgetti & thought maybe we could meet at Wallan ? Haven't ridden much in VIC so some company on the way there would be ace. Turn off the freeway at Malmsbury and take the old Calder highway, it's a more interesting ride, for much the same time. <!--quoteo(post=228649:date=Thu 22nd Dec 2011, 07:23 PM:name=Toraneko)-->QUOTE(Toraneko @ Thu 22nd Dec 2011, 07:23 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->Azza, are you near Bacchus Marsh ? Tdut 2012 --New Date 12-15 Oct 2012-- - Trotski - 25-12-2011 Oh shit, i didn't know that was on that weekend, yeah it would pay to get in with a booking soonest. if there is too much of a problem with accommodation we can move down the road to Cooma or Bombala Tdut 2012 --New Date 12-15 Oct 2012-- - graeme - 26-12-2011 <!--quoteo(post=228953:date=Mon 26th Dec 2011, 09:03 AM:name=Trotski)-->QUOTE(Trotski @ Mon 26th Dec 2011, 09:03 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->Oh shit, i didn't know that was on that weekend, yeah it would pay to get in with a booking soonest. if there is too much of a problem with accommodation we can move down the road to Cooma or Bombala<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd--> Oh shit indeed, the shows are the biggest thing for small towns, do we need to reconsider location before too many bookings are made? cheers Graeme Tdut 2012 --New Date 12-15 Oct 2012-- - Trotski - 26-12-2011 Calling all of those who are coming to Dalgety, who has allready made booking for accommodation ? it might be necessary to move Towns because of the Show (or maybe dates?) let me know Tdut 2012 --New Date 12-15 Oct 2012-- - frodg - 28-12-2011 <!--quoteo(post=228978:date=Mon 26th Dec 2011, 11:11 PM:name=Trotski)-->QUOTE(Trotski @ Mon 26th Dec 2011, 11:11 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->Calling all of those who are coming to Dalgety, who has allready made booking for accommodation ? it might be necessary to move Towns because of the Show (or maybe dates?) let me know<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd--> Happy to move towns - the date would be a problem for me if we go later..... Dalgety may be too awkward anyway even with accommodation booked - so many people and all driving around our lovely roads...... Tdut 2012 --New Date 12-15 Oct 2012-- - scocheezy - 30-12-2011 Its still too far out for me to commit, however, I'd love to go. If I can come, I'd also be leaving from Sydney. Doesnt seem like anyone has booked at Dalgety. You know the area. Have been looking at the map, whats at Jincumbilly? or Ando, or Cathcart. Holts Flat, Nimmitabel. No lack of options eh? but those names took my fancy----Dalgety is perfect but not with heaps of people as Frodg says. cheers Graeme Tdut 2012 --New Date 12-15 Oct 2012-- - Trotski - 01-01-2012 After a bit of thought, i think Berridale (about 20km west of Dalgety) is a good option , there is a Motel/Tourist park complex with a range of accommodation types, (see the link) (http://www.australianexplorer.com/campsites/9052965/profile.htm#contact) there is a number of eating establishments in Berridale, though breakfast may be a problem, Berridale puts us still in easy range of both the propossed rides. The other places you mention Graeme, are little more than localities and don't have much in the way of Facilities, (great names though) Living in the area, I haven't really got much of an Idea of the accommodation, Cooma is good to, but I think the varied accommodation will tend to spread us out to much. the only other place suitable is Jindabyne, and it's a real tourist trap anytime of the year. on balance I would recommend the place above (in the link) at Berridale as somewhere that should suit everyone(I hope). The Dalgety show is more for locals and while it draws a crowd it's mostly day trippers, but i agree that the Pub would be very crowded the whole weekend. and as that is the only eatery in Dalgety it would be a bit of a hassle. So lets have some thoughts please Tdut 2012 --New Date 12-15 Oct 2012-- - graeme - 01-01-2012 <!--quoteo(post=229405:date=Sun 1st Jan 2012, 05:55 PM:name=Trotski)-->QUOTE(Trotski @ Sun 1st Jan 2012, 05:55 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->After a bit of thought, i think Berridale (about 20km west of Dalgety) is a good option , there is a Motel/Tourist park complex with a range of accommodation types, (see the link) (http://www.australianexplorer.com/campsites/9052965/profile.htm#contact) there is a number of eating establishments in Berridale, though breakfast may be a problem, Berridale puts us still in easy range of both the propossed rides. Do we go with a group booking or individual? Tdut 2012 --New Date 12-15 Oct 2012-- - IanA - 01-01-2012 Happy New Year everyone. Going with the current conversation I just did an on-line check for rooms at the pub - FULLY BOOKED. A change of location would be a good thing. I have never been into the region so have no knowledge about the towns and where to stay. Quite happy with hotel or caravan park. Tdut 2012 --New Date 12-15 Oct 2012-- - Trotski - 01-01-2012 OK, decision made, the venue is changed to Berridale, centred on the Southern Cross Motor Inn and Tourist Park (02 6456 3289). Dates remain the Same 2-5 March 2012, the planned rides will also remain the same Please make your own arrangments for Accomodation, I will be tenting at the above, there are a number of room types available at the Park Tdut 2012 --New Date 12-15 Oct 2012-- - Trotski - 01-01-2012 Latest Count is Trotski Graeme Azza Toraneko Brentong Aussie9 Motobloke frodg Ozmoto Big Dave Proudkiwi I will PM all Tdut 2012 --New Date 12-15 Oct 2012-- - azza68 - 02-01-2012 The southern cross has a lodge that sleeps 20, it's available on the website, the list price for three nights would equate to about $100-120 a head...better if we haggle, no doubt. (factoring in a couple of partners, and ring-ins) What say thee? Tdut 2012 --New Date 12-15 Oct 2012-- - Trotski - 02-01-2012 I count 11 responding so far, no one has indicated wheter or not they are bringing extra people along, I promised the Boss(SWMBO) to keep the cost down so I'll be in a tent , i can see the value in the lodge, I hope you can get the other to respond. Tdut 2012 --New Date 12-15 Oct 2012-- - IanA - 02-01-2012 I will be traveling by myself. The lodge looks like good value. |
