850 Destruction - dapleb - 24-09-2019 This tool easier (but not as much fun) than cakey trolley. Put good fitting tube over handle to extend but careful to avoid case where clutch cover fits. Post? [attachment=o12552] Which bits of use? Will be cheaper post without burrings. [attachment=o12553] Wear to leading edge on housing. [attachment=o12554] 850 Destruction - alanfavell - 24-09-2019 Looks minimal chatter 2 smee :good: 850 Destruction - dapleb - 24-09-2019 Yeah same as on most mk1 housings I've seen. Dabs could GENTLY dress edge if reqd. Quote: Dappers,  just out of interest is it virtually identical to an 850 HG barring the part number?Nearly. [attachment=o12555] 850 Destruction - wicklamulla - 24-09-2019 Quote:Yeah same as on most mk1 housings I've seen. Dabs could GENTLY dress edge if reqd.   what a stupid question i asked! I'd imagine the bore size of the 900 HG is larger than the bore size of the 850 HG so very different!!! 850 Destruction - dapleb - 24-09-2019 Not stupid. Haven't measured but very little diff. A tang and a hole looks like the only obvious diffs. 850 Destruction - dablik - 24-09-2019 Oh daps I have to openly declare my love for you No need to send burrings me thinks as mine should fit fine and I'm sure I can bring out me gentler nature for some dressage. Am popping over to the rough side of town on Thursday to see Chris (Matlock) as he is loaning me a cupla tools amongst which he informs me is a clutch tool holder ï¸ Â Good to see that pic of the 9r gasket also, so there all like that sir, nice one. 850 Destruction - dablik - 28-09-2019 That clutch basket above does'nt look any worse than the one i've broken and that seemed to work just fine, have to get a pic.  Further to an earlier question re lapping the flywheel to the taper i had an amatuer blueing of the tapers only Red instead as it's nicer than Blue ![]()  Before [attachment=o12570]  After [attachment=o12571]  Looks to be a relativley good fit as it's only pushed on and rotated a cupla times, but still think a small clean up with fine paste could make it betterer...  Also wondered about a new woodruf key but this current one slides along the slot quite nicely. [attachment=o12572]  Removed the broken basket [attachment=o12573]  850 Destruction - dablik - 28-09-2019 Not much between them, if i dress the basket is it more likely to wear quicker !!  Daps [attachment=o12574]  Mine [attachment=o12575]  850 Destruction - dapleb - 28-09-2019 It looks like every other mk1 basket so I wouldn't dress it but thought I would just highlight that it's there. Bearings put it over 2kg and into post expensive. They are in good cond so if ewe need them can send separate if reqd. That's a proper clutch holder. :0) 850 Destruction - dablik - 28-09-2019 Quote:It looks like every other mk1 basket so I wouldn't dress it but thought I would just highlight that it's there. Okay good, then that's one job i'll wait fur to break before i fixit, so long as she dont start walking at idle i'll be golden.  Cant see any issue with me clutch bearings but ya never know, stick em on the back shelf for now....cheers muchly :good:  Oh yea thas a gudn an all, can now hold me bit's proper ![]() 850 Destruction - Matlock - 29-09-2019 Quote:Am popping over to the rough side of town on Thursday to see Chris (Matlock) as he is loaning me a cupla tools amongst which he informs me is a clutch tool holder ï¸Good to see you made it back alive Cliff :rotflmmfao: 850 Destruction - dablik - 29-09-2019 Quote:Good to see you made it back alive Cliff :rotflmmfao: Good job i know you have a sense of humour Chris ![]() 850 Destruction - dablik - 05-10-2019 Set the timing today and gave the crank a cupla turns to set the tensioner.  That's close as it gets [attachment=o12602] [attachment=o12603]  Fitted the replacement clutch basket, cheers daps, then took it off, then put it back on as ya do, spent most of the afternoon cleaning the needle bearing inside the clutch cover for the bottom of the actuator arm, just full of glass from vapour blasting, a hot soak and bottle brush would'nt remove it all, so cleaned with the brush then cleaned the brush and back to the bearing, but took a long time until i was happy it was gone, you could hear glass on glass grinding yuk, originally tried to pull it out but it's so awkward to get at..  Had the speedo apart as now i've set the odo back to 6/10th's of a mile it's the one wheel i could'nt budge without taking all the tumblers out of the housing but if i attempted that i'm pretty sure it would break, looks like a press fit into it's housing. [attachment=o12604] [attachment=o12605]  It's set back to zero from 50506 for my benefit only, no attempt to declare it as a new bike as most of it's parts are around half my age.  Also cant find me rubber grommits to fit the lights and instruments so made do with some rubber washers for now, they may still show up..  Might get time to chuck the sump on tomorrow which will leave the engine ready to mount in the bike, wont even attempt puttin the flywheel back on and torqueing till then........everyone pray to the rain sun gods please, getting finished is very much weather dependant now,, 850 Destruction - dapleb - 05-10-2019 Very good that dabs, no tooth out dare. 850 Destruction - dablik - 05-10-2019 Quote:Very good that dabs, no tooth out dare. Photo is a bit decieving, it's about 1/3 rd of a tooth out on the exhaust which is the oppsit of how it came off after looking at me photo's, but that was a new chain not so many miles ago i believe and that's as lined up as it ever will be...... Having a real dilemma wether just to tuck it all away until next year now or not, weather forecast for the long term is not so pleasant....hmmm :um: 850 Destruction - dapleb - 05-10-2019 Ya can get injun finished in dry this year? Rest of it can wait? If you have everything prepared the rest of it will go together pronto. 850 Destruction - alanfavell - 05-10-2019 Looking good good looking 850 Destruction - dablik - 05-10-2019 Quote:Ya can get injun finished in dry this year?
