Quote:Did you use heat on the bolts? Need to melt the threadloc they use on them.

I Didn't have any Heat Handy -in fact it was my Son who snapped them

as He took the wheel away to get the Last 4 Bolts out not sure if he used Heat, ( most likely just a big Impact Driver )

Of course now I can't get the screws for the reservoir out

I had the same problem with a front wheel I was given. Sorted it cutting a slot in the top of the broken stud, heating and turning out with a screwy. Bit of a cut in the ally wheel but it's never seen and doesn't compromise strength.

Replaced the front tyre with a Michelin Road 5 GT. This tyre size 120/70x18 has just been released and I have waited for a month. It matches the Road 5 on the back.

Its Road 4 GT predecessor did 12,250 miles. I take that as a tribute to forward planning and braking technique.

£130 fitted to the bike. I'd normally take the loose wheel in but arranged a spin on the Moto Guzzi V85TT while it was fitted.

I can report the TT is a very nice ride and is on my list of future maybes. Anyone thinking of replacing their TDM with a modern take on the theme is recommended to give it a go. The dealer reports more interest in this bike than all the other Guzzis models combined for the last five years, and he had three in the showroom, one outside and the demonstrator.

I love the looks of the V85TT, cost might be an issue for me though. Bet they're not cheap.

Changed the cam chain tensioner on the 9er, easy peasy 😎

I was so anxious to hear the sound of the chain jumping a tooth or two, but it was dead quiet 😁 A sheet of 0.4mm gasket paper, a coin for drawing the big round hole and scissors was enough to make a sufficient gasket. Result! Sooo much quieter!

Also shortened the spacer tubes in front forks, didn't bother to when I installed the gold valve emulators some time ago. Hope I may now plush my ride somewhat....

Next: try installing LED head lamps ✌

I have been out on mine for about 6 hours checking out 3 road routes for a vintage bike event I am running on Sunday. I did around 200 miles on mainly single lanes with a bit of gentle green laning thrown in. The routes are mainly round North Leicestershire . I did find the seat was a bit uncomfortable after about 2 hours. But then I just forgot about it so i assume my arse went to sleep. What an awesome bike these things are for pottering around the backroads at 50/60 MPH.

The first shot is from a few weeks ago on the route after original planning. Today was a check to make sure the council hadn't shut any roads. I do need to take that reflector off and mount one higher up now I have moved the reg plate up higher

Replaced my damaged downpipes with a pair from Black Widow Exhausts UK for £156 instead of £730 Yamaha was asking for the originals. Good value kit.

While I was at it, I noticed one of the three screws securing Rafał's centre stand had took off so I replaced the screw as well. Thankfully the other two were well secured, so all was good. A good reminder to check on them periodically.

New off road tires, right dimensions for TDM900  Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR(radial), I hope Im ready for Bayburt - D915, clearance with fenders is perfect even with fender extender on front wheel. 120/70-18 and 170/60-17(looks more like 160) If they survive 7000km we have a winner :good:

Great ! I might be tempted to take the tools needed to remove the front mudguard, sometimes all that mud can pack up in the guard and then it can get broken

What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - ratson - 14-09-2019

Installed self made engine skid plate  and extra light on crash bar

Aliexpress hanguards I have them for 5 years and they are still sturdy, Protecting from wind and rain perfectly, little bit on a  big side, but I like them.

fork protectors are also self made from ribbed hose, and backrest with alu plate (shelf hangers and upholstered piece of wood) my lady doesnt complain .... Lol , usually my windscreen is on brackets(selfmade) and higher(separeted from original windscreen) I've removed them and bolted the extension lower because I expect some offroading.
