You may get stopped with these (as they are blue) and told to get them off (the lights obviously), 'cos certain colours are "reserved" for certain services.

BLUE = Emergency services and army.

GREEN = Emergency support services.

AMBER = Recovery, unusual loads and general vehicle warnings.

(If I remember right)

As they are "internal" I've been told by a copper you might be OK, but "on the day" they would consider their effect upon the actions of other traffic users; at a junction for instance, where the my "Flash you out" thinking you are a police bike.

My mot man wont allow blue lights facing forward for the reasons mentioned above either.

I have never understood the fascination with fitting 'up lighting' kits to cars and bikes.  I used to see a Cosworth with all these under body lights that strobed and changed colour.  The Americans seem to fit light kits behind fairing panels and under tail section to illuminate the back tyre and tail tidy etc.  All seems odd to me.

I think someone would need to be dumb to think of it as a police bike. You see plenty of trucks going up and down the motorway festooned with blue led's in the cab and also hanging off the front. Obviously, should they flash even once then you are out of any grey area of legal interpretation. I might be wrong but I don't think the law yet specifies what colour, in terms of wavelength of light, blue is defined as. (with so many colour blind people around the law needs to catch up and specify the true wavelengths which are legal.IMHO)

The law specifies that front facing headlight, sidelight and position lights must be either white or amber, in order to identify the direction of travel I presume, but that law was written when the only bulbs in use were tungsten filament bulbs so there was an inherent limit to the colour spectrum being radiated. Times have changed and I think an update of the law would help a lot

I got one of those cheap ebay clip on wind deflectors to try out, around 15 quid delivered

What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - pavel79 - 12-08-2019

I bought the same some years ago from Aliaxpress. This is cheap copy of Givi product. I can't said something bad about this spoiler except weight. I use it with long windscreen and it shaking when bad road rides.

Valve shims done, (3 exhaust and 1 inlet req'd), CSM cleaned and lubed, camchain tensioner stripped and lubed and then balanced the throttle bodies, on Muddy's old 900

60,000 miles and it still starts and runs like new. Smile

Not much left to do except strip and grease steering head, reseat and treat all electrical connectors with contact lube, then rebuild the forks and front brakes. Then she's going on eBay and Facebook Marketplace with a full MOT

What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - fixitsan - 16-08-2019

Got a good deal on two tins of 'Servisol 10 ' contact cleaner and lube, and applied generously to every connector on Muddy's old bike. The relays under the seat were glad of it, as were the connectors behind the headstock....probably because the bikes been unsed for a year on my driveway and in the garage. Everything works perfectly now, so I just have a front end rebuild ahead Smile

well I can tell you they make no difference when connected to a standard screen, I mean none for the better,

increased buffeting for me  :good:

It's not a standard screen so we'll see. For £12 I'm not going to lose much either
