Fitted an Optimate charging lead to the Studleybike & put her on charge

Battery fairly low, but struck her up .......suprising because she hasn't moved a wheel since Masterbrewer dropped her off at the end of June !!

Due for a bit of TLC over Christms though - brake discs, a good clean & oil change, then some new Renntec engine bars

What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - drobinson - 23-11-2014

Decided to keep it !

Ha good man you go to love a TDM.. Can't wait to get a ride out on mine, keep looking at it just bit keen on getting soaked for fun! Wish it would stop pissing down just for a while! Went in the garage today to oil it up ready for a brake in the weather. Sad

She could do, but I'm going to have to lose 3 or 4 bikes next year to make room for what will probably be my last new one.

It's going to be a tough decision ......

Boy's Honda will probably go due it being a write off - Honda reckon it will cost £1600 to repair - and at almost 3 years old & 10K miles, it ain't worth that much

My Trumpet is down to go ....mainly due to extreme lack of use

One of the XT 250's

I can't bring myself to part with my Fazer 1000, or any of my BM's ......The K12000S is costing me a small fortune (more than I paid to buy the Studleybike) to get the servo/ABS unit replaced, so that needs to stay for at least another 5 years to get payback Rolleyes

..and it's a bit extravagant having two TDM's ........Soooooo........ A decision best put off until that latter half of next year when I order me new one ...........

Got my clean Niner all dirty, again, by riding to work in the damp. Now covered in all that *hitty crap kicked up in the spray.

What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - leehenty - 27-11-2014

mine needs a clean again after the bike show visit in the mist and rain.

Probolt relieved me of some hard earned for yet more shiny bits.

Try racebolt.co.uk, they make most of the probolt stuff.

Today, I've expanded all brake pads.

In the brake pads be drilling holes and thread and from the rear 3 mm brass screws as far as screwed, that the threads will protrude 1 mm on the side with the surface of the metal plate.

The thread have I inserted with Loctite and smooth sawed off the heads of the screws.

The brake pads are at the end, the screws will make a golden line on the brake disc. :good:

1mm before the metal plate makes damage to the brake disc.

My bike has had a bit of a birthday lately. Not only is it clean & shiny but the shock has been off, cleaned & backed right off to adjust it properly.

Noticed the wee lug on the right hand side panel had cracked off & the left one was starting to, so made some thin aluminum reinforcing brackets & superglued them inside the panels. Can't see them. I reckon heavily loaded soft panniers and bumpy gravel roads may be the cause of the cracking.

Also replaced the clear vinyl on the side panels to stop the bags rubbing and made a balls of it...... Vinyl is years old & some of the glue stayed on the backing and heat from the sun made the vinyl stretch.

Only rust I have seen is on the Kerker exhaust Y piece and the stone screen on the radiator. Not bad for a 98.Fork paint left hand engine case are showing signs of stone damage but, meh, got to ride them so it's to be expected.

Clean bike.

Did this to rear tire a couple of days ago. The only clean part of the bike at the time.

I check every year during the inspection and by change the tyre.
Often also before I ride a big tour.
But I realized too late the wear 2 times.
The indicator is designed to protect.
Nevertheless, I do the check.
I have spare parts under the seat

Acquired a stablemate for it.

My riding has taken on a different dimension now (and the future) and I grabbed a mates '04 Suzuki DR650 (15k kms).

It sadly means that, as I am a one-bike-at-a-time bloke, the TDM will find it's way to trademe (our local ebay) shortly into the New Year. Sad to see it go, but needs must and all that Sad

I get where your at D, contemplated moving on meself a few times. Thing is our bikes have a low dollar value but huge shed value. I can't bring myself to part with the versatility & reliability. So I accrue more bikes. Just got one of these.

Laugh? I nearly bought a round. It's amazing all things considered.

Imagine a rod carrier on one of them.
