Quote:The vid quality is in the ballpark of HD at the front, so not bad, noticeable barrel distortion but much like a GoPro. Low light is not bad either. Rear cam is lower quality but acceptable.

I wanted a version with a remote because because you get 2 buttons. One to permanently save the current filmed segment and another button to take photos.

If you don't want a remote control then you can get the 2 cameras and DVR with install kit for just £31.50, search ebay with this clue - 3" 32gb dvr

Thank you sir, I shall have a look and think about it! Did you put a separate fuse in or just plug her into an existing wire?

They have a small inline fuse fitted to the power line already. The DVR unit isn't waterproof so I'm putting it under the seat in a plastic box with resealable lid. It draws so little power that it can run from the brake switch's 12V feed or the one for the always on tail light

Just fitted an extra fuseblock behind the side fender on my tdm900a

Already connected, the GPS and an usb on the steering wheel, and also usb under the saddle for my fellow touring partner Wink

Also installed auxiliary lighting on the engine protectors.

Now I'm looking for a bash plate , carterprotector plate for under the bike. Does anyone bought this or made it himself?

Any info is always appreciated

thx

Ridden it and had my suspicions confirmed - HD clutch springs are too heavy for my limp wrist.

New clutch gasket ordered - ho hum.

Went for a great run up to Glencoe and my first time trying out the DVR.

Now, due to reasons beyond my control (I didn't learn to read Chinese at school), I seem to have fitted the 1080p camera facing the rear and the lower quality 720p facing the front. I'll swap these about.

But here's the 1080p results (use the Youtube 'cogwheel' to select the best quality

And here's the lower quality camera incorrectly installed in the front position

The DVR seems to work just fine, but, a 32GB memory card will only last for a few hours, so I've fitted a power switch on the handlebars, to enable me to turn off the camera when on the least risky roads like motorways

Yep, whatever the time of year it's always majestic.

Shame about the pot holes, and the campers which are going to start lining the roads in a month or so !

Hah, yeah I remember them....

Like that camera set-up Smile

It's one of these.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Motorcycle-Camera-Motorbike-Dual-3-HD-Dash-Cam-Video-Wide-Angle-DVR-Camcorder/222871095556?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

1080p front, 720p rear. Should have a remote control but they sent the wrong one, and so I've negotiated a partial refund over that.

You can set the front camera also to shoot in 720p, which gives a file of about 80MB per minute, or 160MB/minute for front and rear. Maximum  memory card size is 32GB. It's set to loop record and delete the oldest files as it goes. I suppose the fact a 32GB card costs £10 means it's usable for long runs. A power switch on the handlebars lets me cut out boring motorway vids.

I've just swapped the cams around and plan to have a run tomorrow, so I'll get some footage with the 1080p at the front and see if it is affected badly by vibrations at the front or not.

It also has a G-shock sensor, so should there be an accident it locks out the current segment of footage so that it can only be deleted manually by the user later on

What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - fixitsan - 15-04-2018

Right, I swapped my cams about.... there is a bit of 'jelly' at the front, but the mounting bracket is very thin, so i might paint  a thick layer of epoxy on it to try to dampen that. Also need to straighten it up a bit !

1080p Front....

720p rear, also needs straightening...

Give me a shout if you fancy a meet. I live near Livingston.

The main limitation of the DVR has to be the size of the memory carf. Today I rode for two and a quarter hours and used 23GB of the card's capacity This is where a unit with a remote control with a lockout button, to stop important files from being automatically deleted comes in handy.

Will do

I'm in Dundee

I see what you mean about the Memory Card

Is it easy enough to swap over Card's ?

If I do get one I quite like the idea of making the missus jealous

Of the Places I visit ( serves her right for not getting on the back )

ha ha

The cards take a second to change, they just push in and lock, and come out with another push. Once the card is full then the oldest vid is erased, just like any other DVR/ The DVR is not waterproof, so until I get a box together it lives in a rubber glove inside a padded envelope ! The microphone is in the main unit, so all the sound you heard in the vids were recoorded through a rubber glove and a padded envelope.

The unit I have came with a mount that lets you fit the DVR unit to the tank or the internal cowling, and it has buttons which allow you to activate the file lock and also to take a photo. Perhaps I could open it up and hardwire a couple of buttons....... given the choice I would get one with a wired remote
