Things have taken a back seat for awhile as it's taking over me life Smile

Had a measure up of the oil pump gubbins, inner rotor in spec and the outer rotor just over spec by 0.01 but well within service limit.

Cleared out some space from the bedroom

Oh and i dont think i'll ever have a full bike powder coated again, what a ball ache, clearing up overspray the fookin clown left on everything is so time consuming, mind expect i should'nt grumble for the price, was prolly 1/2 wot i would pay at a proper bike only coaters, but i will Big Grin

Yep Ken, been touched up over time, bought it to replace the crap bodywork on mine, which i hope to sort in the future, will have to find a matching mud guard though  or worse case get some paint and do it meself, current one is silver, you hiding one away per-chance Smile

Cleaned another set of valves today, them from # 1 cylinder head wot's kaboshed, quite a few of them are pitted around the borrum of the stems, still they were working okay.

Decided to retap all the bolt holes today on the borrum crankcase after it was vapourised, got a small amount of debri out, glass media wot they used

[attachment=o12329]

Then i found this little lot in the oilway to the filter Huh

[attachment=o12330]

So having found that i'll be pulling the oil relief gubbins out to check that an all, mind the vapour man did mention to check the relief valve as he could'nt get in properley, thank buggery i've been brushing me oil ways out..

A bit more crud and half me ball bearing lost it's finish.

[attachment=o12335]

A lot of the blind bolt holes had some debri also, especially inside the rotor cover, very glad i decided to re-tap every hole.

Swarftastic....good finds.

850 Destruction - dablik - 06-08-2019

Just been have a ganders and a dabble with the output shaft gubbins.

I would of thought that the oil holes on the shaft would line up with the bigger bush but the bush is keyed in such a way it sits one spline over/above which is how it came off.

Could keep it that way and use it for getting home from the pub. With no engine - no problem being drunk 😁

Have a lick daps

[attachment=o12342]

Head skimmed, vaccum tested and she's tight, dont even need a lap i was told, might just do a fine lap maybe/maybe not.

[attachment=o12343]

Some more cleaning up today, bathtime...

[attachment=o12344]

A bit more glass out

[attachment=o12345]

and of course a blow dry

[attachment=o12346]

Got a problem here where the Input shaft is bolted the the crankcase with those 3 T30 Torx bolts, the one circled is not taking a bolt as the threads look fubbed, was a small metal bur at the bottom from drilling out which sided the tap, poo, so i'm thinking drill through and fit a bolt to match so long as it does'nt protrude inside the case and perhaps loctite around the bearing when it's driven in, any thought's peeps, dunno if next size up to 8mm is a good idea as all would have to be done i presume..

[attachment=o12347]

Actually when i took the head in i asked about maybe needing to replace 2 of the exhaust valves, seems they are actually in fine fettle, it would appear i got lucky with this replacement head, well early days here's hoping.
