Scissors which have flat sharp edged backs to the blades. IE when the scissors are closed the 4 outer edges of the blades are machined flat and have a sharp edge. The blades are tapered. Keep the scissors closed and push them into the sprung side of the bobbins. The 4 blade back edges will cut slightly into the inside of the bobbin to grip it, and the large handles will give you some purchase.

Before trying to turn the bobbins I fill the opening between the inner disk hub and the outer disk rim at the bobbins with fine graphite powder of the sort locksmiths use -Â http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kasp-K30050-Microfine-Graphite-Lock-Cylinder-Lubricant-Powder-50g-/182304736952?hash=item2a723586b8:g:O-8AAOSwPCVX9lYY

The graphite powder is obviously perfect for lock preservation (non liquid so it doesn't attract dust and build up crap)...but it is also good on the bobbins, so I worked a good amount into the gap around the bobbin edge and could see, and feel, that the bobbin was loosened up quite a bit. It doesn't wash off easily or dribble onto the disk face to contaminate it

Bolt through bobbin hole, tighten nut onto it and use a spanner to turn it. Use brake cleaner or in stubborn cases, WD40 to release and turn. Be sure to clean off any WD with brake cleaner before riding.!!! Works for me.

Rebuilt and fitted forks, fitted master cylinder, (cheers Drewpy), bled the brakes, took it for a little ride round town, scared a few people backfiring, booked the MOT, "fitted" some bmw handguards, that really don't fit. Thought about changing the carbs, fell asleep instead.

I raised the screen 10mm using alloy spacers cut to size.

Test ridden for combined modifications - airbox gubbins removed (spare box), new air filter installed and GPR exhaust fitment - C1 &Â C2 set to 50 for first run & seems to pull much better now, exhaust pipes not blue either
New front pads bedded in and deffo not as good as OE so they will get swapped out very soon. ABS light still works.............bit breezy this AM.

Might be the plug for the starter, burns out quite often. down the right hand side of the tank under the seat. I just connected mine together at each end, will sort it out correctly in the winter.

Today I got the big banana through NSW registration.

got home early from work yesterday, sun was shining, wife was going to organise dinner, so went for a meandering blast on the mk2. I was thinking how it will be nice to try the 900 on Saturday when it goes for the MOT. I always preferred the way the mk2 steered over the way the 900 steers, but the 900 now has a 17" front wheel and new PR3's ....and as I was riding the mk2 I realised that with the EMC rear shock and rebuilt front forks the 9er will have to be much better than it was.
Either way i still don't know which I'm going to sell and it would be nice to keep both but that's not practical
