What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - muddy - 15-08-2016 Quote:Emptied a full tank of the MkI below 4 l/100km (or above 70 MPG, if you like) for the first time. Will not be happening often, a steady speed tour at max 80kph :-)  A bit boring was it. In France, if I'm in the mood, I'll stick to the 90 kph speed limits and amble along and the best I had was 73 mpg (3.9 l/100km). What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - davytdm - 15-08-2016 looks great fixit much better with the red What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - dablik - 15-08-2016 Lady in Red, agree it's better :good: What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - fixitsan - 15-08-2016 Thanks chaps :good: What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - bjorge - 16-08-2016 Quote:Naw, not boring. Driving with my girlfriend, whose risk estimate on bumpy, curvy roads is a bit higher. But the view was really great, a cool, cruising day with a grin on my face :pimp: The next day we split up as I had a meeting sceduled and I compensated to get there in time, blowing out all the deposits from the slow run.... What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - fixitsan - 16-08-2016 Rebuilt the mk1 rear caliper, fitted a new horn and washed both the mk1 and the 9er What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - alanfavell - 16-08-2016 New LED indicator lamps & resistors - super bright compared to STD.   For future reference; 1 x 10w 6ohm resistor  per side reqd. What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - Martin34 - 18-08-2016 Finally got to take the 850 round the block quickly for the first time.Must admit it sounds and feels a little strange coming from a cb1300. What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - fixitsan - 18-08-2016 Found the source of the 850 running hot...... the twin horns i just fitted seem to be working in conjunction with fork gaitors to stem the flow of cooling air to the radiator ! What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - agrantg - 27-08-2016 Fitted new brass chain adjusters (thanks Lee). What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - chrisr - 27-08-2016 New rear PR3 (thanks Ali) What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - steve27bha - 27-08-2016 Fitted the IXIL 2into1 from ramo - well, yesterday.  [attachment=o8730]  Today I adjusted it back a bit to give the brake pedal some clearance. Tomorrow I'll give it a run. What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - fixitsan - 28-08-2016 After finding that my mk1 was losing oil through the oil tank breather hose at high revs (oil on the back wheel !)   I found that the breather hose on top of the gearbox actually has an underpressure (slight vacuum) so i connected the oil tank overflow to the gearbox breather and went for a 'demanding' test ride.  Does anyone else have a lot of crankcase gasses getting into their oil tank......if you put your finger over the oil tank breather do you get a lot of gas blowing out, especially at higher revs ?  This was exactly the same situation before i rebuilt the engine too, so I don't think it was as a result of anything I've done in the rebuild.......there just seems to be a lot of gas being returned to the tank with the oil, as if the dry sump pump is gulping oil and gas from the sump.......with so much splashing going on in the tank a lot of smaller oil droplets seem to have been getting blown out of the breather with the escaping gasses.  Being a 360 degree twin, both pistons move up and down together, so there is compression and release of gasses in the crankcase on a larger scale than if the pistons worked in opposition.....you can feel the effect of that at the main crankcase breather hose where there's a lot of pulsing Quote:Fitted the IXIL 2into1 from ramo - well, yesterday. Looks smart Steve. Does it sound well ? What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - fayeslane - 28-08-2016 Welded a bloody big gal washer onto the sidetand foot to stop the 900 falling over in the soft stuff. What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - steve27bha - 28-08-2016 Quote:....I had earplugs in as usual, and the baffle in the can. The sound varies greatly depending on RPM and throttle position. At ~3,000 and steady there is no noise getting thru'! @2k there's a crackly rasp. Going for it sounds a bit like a Harley at times. M9 cruising gives a muted buzz sound heard from the seat. I haven't asked any passing motorist or biker yet! I pulled the plug out on my return so will try that tomorrow. What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - sidarta - 05-09-2016 Hi to all!  I spent Sunday like this:  removed full interprise (without separating) and flanges left very easy. fuel tank, carburetors, intake manifolds. I had already removed the head cover and the 6 nuts holding the head to the cylinder. Today after some time, I found the two long screws (allen), which are close to the chain of command. The head took a bit to get out and I had to use a cable tensioner to push it. Fast and without problems I had no problems with any screw. All they left without eventualities. Tomorrow after work, I clean the parts. Yet this week will bring the head to assessment by a professional grinding. The laps of intake side were marked and generated fine swarf. The lubrication holes were restricted. I am optimistic. But I am also realistic, we will await the opinion of the professional.  http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u422/sidtoyo/Esticador%20-%20Cable%20tensioner_zps5cy1kasp.jpg http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u422/sidtoyo/allen%20screw%20long_zpsbqijlat2.jpg http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u422/sidtoyo/cabeccedilote%20-%20head_zpsp0shpcam.jpg http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u422/sidtoyo/cylinder_zps7zqe1eou.jpg  Cheers! What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - fixitsan - 05-09-2016 Sid, it looks good on the pistons. No wet oil. What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - jbx - 05-09-2016 This week-end I drove the beast to the beach near Cannes, temperature of the sea : 26°C... a bit cold.  ![]() What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - Rallyist - 06-09-2016 If you think that's cold you should take a trip to Skegness. What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - sidestand - 06-09-2016 You have to walk 2 miles to even find the sea at Skeg ! |
