Decent Pootling - dablik - 11-07-2022 Funny you should mention the Alu boxes, i may well keep them on and carry the stove and extra water for to make a brew and cook up some grub, flask not big enough really and i aint paying silly prices if i can help it, so maybe i'll be a proper baby GSr. Decent Pootling - Catteeclan - 12-07-2022 Quote:Can't have been much of an adventure without aluminium boxes. You must have far too much money to spend to go there although it's a very pretty place. Lots of Londoners buying up for second homes. A few miles down the coast from me and Trevini. Lots of Londoners buying up for second homes. It's only £26 a night to stop in the harbour but I know what you mean about pricey, £5 a pint ffs, I got a quote back in June on a pint of guiness, £5.80 FFS!luckily adnams blackshore is a nicer stout. Did 2 nights is woodbridge which is a nice place and a night at waldringfield, the pub there is pretty damn pricey too. Now back on the broads and been paying £3.80 a pint tonight, that's more like it. Decent Pootling - Tishabelle - 18-07-2022 Yes, how very poignant xxxx *Raises a glass to Wicky xxxxxxxxxxX Decent Pootling - dapleb - 18-07-2022 That was at highclere. Some very neat looking trees including one massive oak which looked like it had been zapped by lightning and had a mini version of itself growing out of the top. Decent Pootling - dapleb - 19-07-2022 Yesterday pootle took a while. [attachment=o14921] Decent Pootling - drewpy - 19-07-2022 a bimble into Wales on Monday. Lake Bala was the destination  ![]() Decent Pootling - peter-may - 29-07-2022 Vernwy for me and some friends today. Tortuous route using as many B roads as possible. A mere 160 miles, but loads of smiles, coffee and chat. Decent Pootling - JohnnyW - 01-08-2022 Headed out on what was originally planned to be an east to west bimble from Tomintoul to Ullapool and back(200 miles). Instead of returning the same route decided to head north from Ullapool then turned right towards Lairg. Single track roads all the way to Rosehall and most of the way down to Bonner Bridge. Cross country to Dingwall then onto Conon Bridge, Muir of Ord,Beauly before rejoining A9 at Inverness and then south and east back to Tomintoul. Ended up covering 260 miles, most I've done in the one day for a good few years. Couple of things became apparent in the course of the journey. The rear shock was fine on smooth surfaces but took on the properties of a pogo stick on anything else and the seat has been sat on for 108,000 miles so it doesn't have much give left in it. So it looks like a new shock and a re-upholstered seat could be on the cards. Decent Pootling - dablik - 05-08-2022 Lovely pootle down to Devon on Wednesday, all cross country bar the section from Wales down the M5, 290 miles and the next day with a late start all the way back over the Brecon beacons and sublime tarmac through mid Wales up to the Pool, cracking ride of 340 miles home, took me 9 hrs with a big stop for lunch at the roadside and a cupla water stops, up for that again ![]() Decent Pootling - Studley Ramrod - 05-08-2022 Late start worth it though eh. Good miles them :good: Decent Pootling - dablik - 05-08-2022 Quote:Late start Nothing a tin of spam and baked beans with a nice strong coffee could'nt sort, no hangover anyway, which is good, i can do it again  Yep my kind of miles that, enjoyed it.Decent Pootling - Studley Ramrod - 06-08-2022 Think I'd puke eating Spam for brekky ![]() |
