Have never put anything other than the bucket what came out back in so never even gived it a thought. 850 Destruction - Studley Ramrod - 21-06-2019 I'm wondering if the colour coding is only really meant for help with building the engwin in the factory ? and mayhaps why ya need to remember where each bucket goes when ya do work on the top. 850 Destruction - dablik - 21-06-2019 Quote:I'm wondering if the colour coding is only really meant for help with building the engwin in the factory ? and mayhaps why ya need to remember where each bucket goes when ya do work on the top. Prolly matey but you would expect them to remain the same as from factory, unless of course they got mixed up at some point, i need to find a sucky thing to plop on cos i wanna see if they spin fine in situ, one of the buckets feels a bit loose which i would imagine is not the best scenario ? and then their gonna wear over time anyhoo. 850 Destruction - Studley Ramrod - 21-06-2019 Serial worrier you are matey.   Everything wears over time...apparently. I wouldn't be concerned about it, but I know you're wired up differently to me. lol Wonder if the paint blobs refer to summat else like the camshaft bearings ? 850 Destruction - dablik - 21-06-2019 :dunno: Na i'm going with buckets, Red and Blue as they mostly corrosponded ![]()  Anyhoo all mine are labeled up to go back where they came from, but even if they got swapped i guess they would wear in, if i had to replace a bucket ie a new one it's gonna do the same. 850 Destruction - Studley Ramrod - 21-06-2019 No wear limit for buckets so difficult to know if they're within tolerance or not eh ?  Anyhoos, soon be time to start building. ![]() 850 Destruction - dablik - 21-06-2019 Quote:No wear limit for buckets so difficult to know if they're within tolerance or not eh ? Yep some are a more firm/snug fit for want of a better description, rebuild hopefully starting in a cuplamore/3-20 weeks, will have the head skimmed, the barrells will go in to be measured and honed/rebored !! and crankshaft checked for runout.  Pulled these 2 hollow grub screws out today (oilway) the other for the output shaft, which were a little loose, i expect vibrated over time, i assume they are meant to be screwed all the way home seeing how their hollow anyway, can anyone comment. [attachment=o12142]  Haynes gives it a mention but cant find it now, i'm guessing the point of these is to be able to have access to bog brushing the oilways.. 850 Destruction - dablik - 23-06-2019 Gave the bucket bores a quick polish with turtle wax of all things as it's mild compared to other polishes using a felt dremel type mop, got me bucket which had difficulty to fit but one still really grabby on the inlet side, tried one of me old ones which coincidently has no colour or it's worn off and it slides much nicer :dunno: Also..........fixed it ![]() [attachment=o12143] 850 Destruction - dapleb - 23-06-2019 Snout polished out right nice dabbers hmmmm.... 850 Destruction - Studley Ramrod - 23-06-2019 Ya gok an udder huan ?  Might be the tight fitting bucket was v slightly ovalled eh. 850 Destruction - dablik - 23-06-2019 Quote:Snout polished out right nice dabbers hmmmm.... Oi likked it to def daps ![]() Quote:Ya gok an udder huan ? You is doubting moi welding and ploshin skills studs ![]()  Never thought of it ovalling Ian, could well be, or diff sizes, gonna measure in a bit and see....  Edit.. .5mm difference, suspect your right.......again. 850 Destruction - Studley Ramrod - 24-06-2019 Quote: I am if you are matey. ![]() 850 Destruction - dablik - 24-06-2019 [attachment=o12144] 850 Destruction - dablik - 27-06-2019 Oh why did i start this :oldgit: 850 Destruction - bjorge - 28-06-2019 I can feel your pain orry:If it were simple, it wouldn't be as satisfactory when you experience your first test ride ! :pimp: 850 Destruction - dablik - 28-06-2019 Quote:I can feel your pain Aye Bjorge your right, it's very time consuming, speciallly when your a tortoise like me, anyway new day, another bit to do. 850 Destruction - dapleb - 28-06-2019 Imagine the hourly rate required to make it viable to do a proper job!!
