Niken - bjorge - 15-11-2017 [attachment=o10519]  I'll be damned........ Niken - fixitsan - 15-11-2017 Everyone with money who's partner said "bikes are too dangerous I don't want you to get one" now have a free go ! Quote:Everyone with money who's partner said "bikes are too dangerous I don't want you to get one" now have a free go !  Also i go on rides sometimes and there are amputees and other people with physical conditions which make riding a bike too difficult....they're in with a shout now too! Niken - Robodene - 15-11-2017 I don't think it is self-supporting when stationary. Still needs the side stand. I find that mystifying. Niken - dablik - 15-11-2017 Suprised it's taken so long, scoots been around for a good while in this format, be fun changing fork seals and the like. Niken - fixitsan - 15-11-2017 Quote:I don't think it is self-supporting when stationary. Still needs the side stand. I find that mystifying.  Really ? I didn't dig into the specs yet.  The Piaggio MP3 three wheeler has a lock device for when you're stationary, it is optional to use but there if you need it Niken - Studley Ramrod - 15-11-2017 I bet your boots/legs get covered in shoite when it's raining. Wonder if it's easy to lift up after dropping it ? :unsure2: Niken - CrashTestDuffy - 15-11-2017 For some reason I really like the look of this but it'd be a bugger to get onto a paddock stand... Niken - fixitsan - 15-11-2017 Video here... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fz9vk7PRLFk  Front wheels are only 410mm apart, this means that unlike some other trikes, with wheels further apart than 460mm , this one cannot be ridden on an older car licence (my understanding of the current regs might not be up to date here) Niken - dmmsta - 15-11-2017 I kinda fell for a little bit in love with this when they released the concept images 12+ months ago.  I like the new design they're going with (MT10 esk).  Having seen it in the video i'm not a sure as before, but it looks like it could be fun to ride(drive??)  Quote:I bet your boots/legs get covered in shoite when it's raining. Wonder if it's easy to lift up after dropping it ? :unsure2:Have you seen the size of them front mud guards...  Here's the concept images from 2014: [attachment=o10521] [attachment=o10522] Niken - Quartermaster - 15-11-2017 I like it a lot. I wonder if it qualifies for Motability funding as it seems a little more exciting than the old Greeves Invacar? Niken - Robodene - 16-11-2017 I saw a poll in MCN which gave 45% liking and 45% disliking. Perhaps there is a market for it. Yamaha put the original concept into its Design Cafe for comments and they must have learned something there. Niken - muddy - 16-11-2017 Where's the demand? I get it with smaller capacity bikes and scooters for skittish new riders, but not with that. Niken - dandywarhol - 16-11-2017 Might as well put another wheel on the back and call it a fuggin quad! :pimp: Niken - dapleb - 16-11-2017 If somewan left the keys in oi wouldn't bother niken it! :-P Niken - marko67 - 17-11-2017 I like it and applaud Yamaha for being bonkers. I believe the front tires are 120 / 15.. A 240 contact patch for braking? Could be mitigated by the tonnage of the vehicle....  The best thing about MP3's and the like is how well they handle on crap, slippery roads. I should imagine the Niken has this ability, too.  Dunno if I would want to own one but I would certainly love to have a go Mister! Niken - TDMick - 18-11-2017 In my dotage.................. HELL YES! Niken - dablik - 18-11-2017 Quote:In my dotage.................. HELL YES! Get paying that deposit Mick ![]() Niken - TDMick - 18-11-2017 Quote:ÂMotability mate, feck the family they can walk. :rotflmmfao: Niken - fixitsan - 18-11-2017 Quote:I like it and applaud Yamaha for being bonkers. Absolutely.  As if the MT-09 isn't useful enough already....... will the Niken outperform it in the corners ? That could be interesting ! Niken - dmmsta - 18-11-2017 Would have been a total riot with the MT10 (1000cc crossplane) engine in it! |
