Rear shock absorber - Guinness - 12-06-2007 Have you changed the internals of the rear shock? Have you changed the rearshock entirely? Tell us why, where, what, how, how much and more. Rear shock absorber - sidestand - 12-06-2007 Mitch (Avonne) has just pioneered a repleacement rear for the 900 from Hagon, G......about £255 for the basic version plus another £195 for remote adjustment he said. (Of course, the smug B*stard got his remote free for being the test pilot) Rear shock absorber - dandywarhol - 12-06-2007 Fournales because air is a better spring medium than metal, less unsprung weight and cos it works really well under ALL conditions. Got to say that they went through a spell of bad ram tube quality but I sent mine back after a 18 months and it was totally rebuilt with new parts and is performing perfectly with no air loss. I think it's around £400 with the remote cell for two up riding Rear shock absorber - Guest - 12-06-2007 I've got an Ohlins on my MK2, and I've had a Hagon. I got the Hagon for my first 850 because the standard shock was nackered, it is a really good bit of kit. When I got my second 850 I decided to try something else, the Ohlins is better, but a fair bit dearer. Rear shock absorber - wicklamulla - 12-06-2007 oil never deal with Fournales again !!!!!!!!!!! Hagon, wilbers, WP or Ohlins but not Fournales ! good product but a shoite company ! Rear shock absorber - avonne - 13-06-2007 £255 and £125 for the remote from Hagon Rear shock absorber - TonyDevil - 13-06-2007 the G-mans Ohlins - changed because i'm nearly always travelling with full luggage, and it was a little saggy at speed Rear shock absorber - wicklamulla - 13-06-2007 <!--quoteo(post=43857:date=Wed 13th Jun 2007, 09:34 AM:name=Toneski)-->QUOTE(Toneski @ Wed 13th Jun 2007, 09:34 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->the G-mans Ohlins - changed because i'm nearly always travelling with full luggage, and it was a little saggy at speed<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd--> what your original Yamaha shock was saggy or the Ohlins ? Rear shock absorber - TonyDevil - 13-06-2007 <!--quoteo(post=43875:date=Wed 13th Jun 2007, 11:05 AM:name=wicklamulla)-->QUOTE(wicklamulla @ Wed 13th Jun 2007, 11:05 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->what your original Yamaha shock was saggy or the Ohlins ?<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd--> the ohlins is lovely an'ard the original was fine for normal riding but loaded and riding at speed (which is mostly what i do) it was saggy but fitting the ohlins really showed up the crappy fork springs Rear shock absorber - bondy - 26-03-2008 If I replace my rear shock with a Hagon can I retain the hard/soft option doohicky thingy of the original? Rear shock absorber - dandywarhol - 26-03-2008 F'raid not Bondy, but you can specify your weight and get a spring to suit. Rear shock absorber - dapleb - 26-03-2008 Thought one of Carpedians had been a guinea piggy for a shock from Hagon with hard/soft option? (maybe I dreamt that). Rear shock absorber - stormy - 26-03-2008 I've got a Hagon unit on mine, and whilst the unit itself is fine, because they build the thing 10mm longer than stock AS STANDARD, it jacks the arse end up the air to the point that my partner can't ride the thing, and I'm struggling with it. I specified stronger spring rate aswell to cope with panniers and two up riding, bbut by god the thing is tall. Bearing in mind that I have lowered the front of the bike by 20mm to make it turn easier (forks through yokes jobby), I am still struggling to reach the deck. I've only done 350 miles on the shock, but am seriously considering putting the original back on, just so I can get me feet down easily. Hagon will do a standard length shock, but that is a special order. Had I known that, I'd paid the little extra for it. Of course, is someone is considering buying a new shock from Hagon, specify a standard length with uprated spring, and I'll gladly swap with you!!!! Had I known that, I'd paid the little extra for it.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd--> I've got a Hagon monoshock which I haven't fitted yet (bought 2nd hand). I don't know whether it's the longer or standard length, do you know what the lengths are so that I can measure and find out? This is for a Mk2 4TX btw. Rear shock absorber - jollygiant - 26-03-2008 Hagon all the way.... Nice and ard stops the damn thing squatting when getting power on at the apex Had Ohlins(£549) on a Gixer and cost twice as much as Hagon(£255) and cant really tell the diffrence for road use, Hagon just as much fiddlesness as ohlins... A good plus is that when you ring Hagon just tell the gizzeeer on other end of fone how much you weigh and they will put a harder spring on if you are big like me Yeah it is longer but unless you have little legs it shouldnt make that much diffrence Rear shock absorber - stormy - 26-03-2008 <!--quoteo(post=76137:date=Wed 26th Mar 2008, 04:21 PM:name=Jolly Giant)-->QUOTE(Jolly Giant @ Wed 26th Mar 2008, 04:21 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->Yeah it is longer but unless you have little legs it shouldnt make that much diffrence <!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd--> as you can plainly see, me legs only just reach the ground!!!!! felt like being on the set of Land of the Giants!
